◆ そもそも ― かしこい知恵を、埋もれさせないために創業したニゃ！

人類の知の大半は、書かれた瞬間に眠りにつくニゃ。

―哲学者ポランニーは言ったニゃ。「人は、語れる以上のことを知っている」と。

その、語られなかった知恵こそが惜しい。

知識と社会をつなぐ、 白獅子は、そのために生まれた会社ニゃ。

◆ いつか ― 世界中のかしこい知恵を、ぜんぶ“動ける力”に変えるニゃ！

知っていることと、できることは、別の大陸ニゃ。

「わかる」と「できる」のあいだには、深い海峡が横たわっているニゃ。

アリストテレスが、知を「観る知」と「為す知」に分けて以来、 人類はずっと、この海峡の渡り方を探してきたニゃ。

白獅子がかけたいのは、そこに架ける橋。 災害から逃げ延びる判断も、命をつなぐ手技も、 知識のままでは、その一瞬に間に合わないニゃ。

それを、考えるより先に体が動く“力”へと鍛え上げる。

We have returned every borrowed word, and set out only what Snowlion truly believes. At its heart lie three sentences. Allow us to speak of each in turn. ◆ In the beginning — We were founded so that brilliant knowledge would never lie buried. Most of humanity's knowledge falls asleep the moment it is written down. A researcher's intuition, the wisdom in a master craftsman's fingertips, a great teacher's sense of timing. Much of it remains "tacit knowledge" that no paper or textbook can fully capture, and it fades away, quietly, together with the one who held it. As the philosopher Michael Polanyi observed: "We can know more than we can tell." It is precisely that unspoken knowledge whose loss we cannot bear. To unearth buried wisdom and call it back into the world — that is the purpose for which Snowlion was born. ◆ Someday — We will turn the world's brilliant knowledge, all of it, into the power to act. Knowing and doing are separate continents. Between "understanding" and "being able" lies a deep strait. Ever since Aristotle divided knowledge into the contemplative and the practical, humankind has searched for a way to cross that water. What Snowlion wishes to build is a bridge across it. The judgment to escape a disaster, the skilled hands that save a life — left as mere knowledge, they will never arrive in time for the decisive moment. We forge that knowledge into a power in which the body moves before thought. We turn knowing into doing — the world's wisdom, all of it, into the power to act. This is the horizon Snowlion is aiming for. ◆ And now — We are creating the experiences that turn expert knowledge into the power to act. Ideals are easy to speak; the strait is hard to cross. And so we build the present, one step at a time. To see and understand. To understand and change. To change and act. Designing that whole ascent — from perception to action — as a single experience is Snowlion's work. XR and 3DCG are never ends in themselves. They are merely tools for connecting the human body with the human intellect. The aim is always one and the same: that a person, better informed, comes to act of their own will. ◆ What lies ahead Changing our sign was not an arrival, but a departure. What Snowlion takes on next is what lies beyond "experience it, and you're done." After the experience, an AI reads a person's actions, and quietly reflects back what was sound, and what should be honed. Even when no teacher is present, learning and mastery carry on by themselves — an attempt to free the passing-on of knowledge from its dependence on any single person. We recall that Minakata Kumagusu, from his home in Wakayama, exchanged knowledge and letters with the world, and taught that all things meet at a single point. Snowlion, too, from its own corner of Okayama, wishes to tie distant wisdom to distant wisdom once more. Let no knowledge lie buried. The world's brilliance, into the power to act.
