医療や教育の現場には、専門家の皆さまが日々感じている課題と、届けたい想いがあります。
株式会社白獅子では、看護教育、薬剤師の研修、感染症対策、糖尿病をはじめとする生活習慣病に関する学習など、医療・健康分野の教材やシステムの開発に携わってきました。

「何をつくるか」の前に、「なぜつくるのか」を
私たちが最初に伺いたいのは、使いたい技術や完成品の形だけではありません。
誰に、何を伝えたいのか。いま、どのようなことに困っているのか。
学んだ人に、どのような気づきや行動の変化が生まれてほしいのか。
同じテーマでも、医療を学ぶ学生、現場で働く専門職、患者さんやご家族では、必要な内容も伝え方も異なります。
だからこそ、最初のご相談とご提案を大切にしています。
VRや3DCG、映像、対話型の教材などは、その目的を実現するための道具です。
体験する意味がある場面、図や映像で伝わる場面、繰り返し練習することが必要な場面。
それぞれを整理し、現場で使うことまで考えて、適した形をご提案します。
教える人の想いと時間を、より大切にするために
丁寧に教えたい。理解できるまで付き合いたい。その想いがあっても、教育に使える時間や人手には限りがあります。
少子高齢化が進む社会で、医療やケアを支える人を育てながら、日々の業務にも向き合う。その中で、説明や指導の負担を少しでも減らすお手伝いができないかと、私たちは考えています。
例えば、基本的な手順を事前に学ぶこと。実際の現場では繰り返し経験しにくい状況を、安全に体験すること。一度では理解しきれなかった内容を、自分のペースで振り返ること。
そうした学びを教材で支えることで、教える方が、一人ひとりへの助言や対話に時間を使えるようにしたい。
繰り返す説明は教材が支え、人だからこそできる指導やケアに、より力を注げるようにする。
それが、私たちが開発を通してお手伝いしたいことの一つです。
研究の段階やご予算に合わせて、一緒に考えます
研究や製品開発には、実施期間や予算、検証の手順など、さまざまな条件があります。最初から、すべての機能を備えた完成品が必要とは限りません。
まずは研究で確かめたい場面に絞って試作する。
小さく使ってみて、利用者の反応を踏まえて改良する。
研究段階で得られた知見を、次の教材開発や製品化につなげる。

大学・研究機関との開発で大切にしていること
白獅子は、大学や研究機関の皆さまと、研究・教育に関わる開発を重ねてきました。
研究では、開発した内容をすぐに公表できるとは限りません。
論文投稿や学会発表、知的財産、共同研究先との調整など、公開の時期や範囲にも配慮が必要です。
そのため、研究内容や開発成果を、弊社の判断だけで公開することはありません。
論文投稿・掲載まで非公開とすることなど、ご意向や契約条件を確認し、公開の時期と内容は事前にご相談します。
教材の内容についても、専門家の皆さまによる監修・確認を大切にしながら、正確さと分かりやすさを両立できるよう、やり取りを重ねていきます。
つくった後も、使い続けられるように
教材やシステムは、完成した後に、実際の現場で使われてこそ意味があります。
授業で使ってみて、説明の順番を変えたくなる。研究を進める中で、内容や機能の追加が必要になる。運用環境の変化に合わせて、調整が求められる。
白獅子では、自社で開発を行っているため、開発時の意図や仕組みを踏まえて、その後の修正や保守についてもご相談いただけます。
保守の範囲や費用、利用する機器・環境などもあらかじめ確認し、導入後の運用を見据えて進めます。

私たちは、医療をもっと身近にしたいと考えています。

Before Asking “What Should We Build?” We Ask “Why?”
Our first questions go beyond the technology you want to use or what the finished product should look like.
Who do you want to reach, and what do you want them to understand? What challenges are you facing today? What insights or changes in behavior do you hope the learning experience will inspire?
Even when the subject is the same, healthcare students, practicing professionals, patients, and families need different content and different approaches.
That is why we place such importance on the initial consultation and proposal.
VR, 3D computer graphics, video, and interactive learning materials are tools for achieving your goals.
Some situations benefit from immersive experience. Others can be explained effectively through illustrations or video. Still others require repeated practice.
We consider these needs individually and propose an approach suited to how the materials will actually be used.
Supporting Educators and Making the Most of Their Time
Educators want to teach with care and support learners until they understand. Yet even with that commitment, time and staffing are limited.
In a society with an aging population and declining birth rates, healthcare professionals must train the people who will support future care while also managing their daily responsibilities. We want to help ease the burden of explanation and instruction.
This might mean learning basic procedures in advance, safely experiencing situations that are difficult to encounter repeatedly in practice, or reviewing unfamiliar material at one’s own pace.

Working with Your Research Stage and Budget
Research and product development involve a range of constraints, including timelines, budgets, and evaluation procedures. A fully featured finished product is not always necessary at the outset.
You might begin with a prototype focused on the specific situations you want to investigate, try it on a small scale and refine it based on user feedback, then apply the findings to further educational development or a future product.

Snow Lion has worked with universities and research institutions on a range of research and educational development projects.
Research-related work cannot always be made public immediately. Journal submissions, conference presentations, intellectual property, and coordination with research partners all require careful consideration of what can be disclosed and when.
We do not disclose research details or development outcomes on our own initiative.
We confirm your preferences and contractual requirements—including keeping work confidential until a paper has been submitted or published—and consult with you in advance about the timing and content of any disclosure.
We also value expert oversight and review of educational content, working closely with you to ensure that it is both accurate and easy to understand.
Helping You Keep Using What We Build
Educational materials and systems fulfill their purpose when they are put to use in real settings.
After using a resource in class, you may want to change the order of explanations. As research progresses, you may need additional content or functions. Changes in the operating environment may also require adjustments.
Because we develop our solutions in-house, we can discuss updates and maintenance with a clear understanding of the original design, purpose, and underlying system.
We clarify the scope and cost of maintenance, as well as the devices and operating environments involved, with continued use after implementation in mind.
