「感染症対策VR」防災・減災×サステナブル大賞「優秀賞」受賞のご報告

手指衛生で守るいのち――平時・被災時一貫のVR災害医療教育を推進

株式会社白獅子は、一般社団法人 減災サステナブル技術協会が主催する「防災・減災×サステナブル大賞（通称：スマーテスアワード）」において、優秀賞を受賞いたしました。 本賞は、防災・減災領域における取り組みを、レジリエンス性と持続可能性の観点から総合的に評価し、活動実績だけでなく構想段階の提案まで幅広く顕彰する制度です。 ▷ 減災サステナブル技術協会 | 日本発の技術で減災防災を進める


受賞テーマ

「手指衛生で守るいのち 〜平時・被災時一貫のVR災害医療教育推進」

本取り組みは、岡山大学病院・感染症内科と連携し、平時から被災時まで一貫して学べる、“見えない汚染”を可視化する感染対策VRです。

医療従事者に限らず、住民・避難所担当者も参加できる設計とし、次のような要素を安全に反復訓練できることを重視しています。

  • 手指衛生

  • 個人防護具の着脱

  • ゾーニング

  • 動線設計

  • 清掃・廃棄（汚染物の扱いを含む）

さらに、手順のアップデートを継続的に反映することで、避難所の交差感染なども未然に防ぐことを目指しています。


評価コメントとしていただいたこと

審査においては、大学との連携により「見えない汚染」を可視化するVR技術が優れていること、そして日頃の訓練にも活用でき、医療分野への貢献が今後さらに期待できることをご評価いただきました。

今回のコメントは「技術の新規性」だけでなく、現場に残る教育として定着し得ること、そして平時と被災時を分断せずに備える設計に対する評価だと受け止めています。


今後に向けて

災害時、感染対策は「余裕があれば行うこと」ではなく、医療・避難所運営そのものを支える基盤です。白獅子は今後も、現場の知恵と手順を“体験として伝わる形”へ翻訳し、継続運用できる教育モデルとして磨き上げてまいります。

Snowlion Inc. has been awarded the Excellence Award at the "Disaster Prevention/Mitigation × Sustainable Grand Prize (commonly known as: Smartest Award)" hosted by the Japan Association for Disaster Mitigation and Sustainable Technology.

This award comprehensively evaluates initiatives in the disaster prevention and mitigation field from the perspectives of resilience and sustainability, recognizing a wide range of contributions from actual achievements to conceptual-stage proposals.

Award Theme

"Protecting Lives Through Hand Hygiene - Promoting Consistent VR Disaster Medical Education from Peacetime to Disaster"

This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Department of Infectious Diseases at Okayama University Hospital, is an infection control VR that visualizes "invisible contamination" and enables consistent learning from peacetime through disaster situations.

Designed to be accessible not only to healthcare workers but also to residents and evacuation center staff, it emphasizes the ability to safely practice the following elements repeatedly:

  • Hand hygiene

  • Donning and doffing personal protective equipment

  • Zoning

  • Traffic flow design

  • Cleaning and disposal (including handling of contaminated materials)

Furthermore, by continuously reflecting procedural updates, we aim to prevent cross-infection in evacuation centers and other settings.

Evaluation Comments Received

In the review process, we were recognized for our excellent VR technology that visualizes "invisible contamination" through collaboration with universities, and for its applicability to routine training with expectations for further contributions to the medical field.

We understand these comments to evaluate not only the "technological novelty" but also its potential to establish itself as education that remains in practice, and the design that prepares for both peacetime and disaster situations without separation.

Looking Forward

During disasters, infection control is not "something to do if there is time to spare," but rather a foundation that supports medical care and evacuation center operations themselves. Snowlion will continue to translate on-site knowledge and procedures into "forms that communicate through experience" and refine them as sustainable educational models.
